Title: A Start of a New Beginning
Chapter 1: Abandoned
Characters (Main): Ironhide & Erin
Erin looked at her father, shocked. He had said that they were going to go run errands, but now he was telling her to get out of the car, in an unknown area, on the other side of town.
"What?" she asked.
"Get out of the car."
"I said Get out of the car!" his roared in anger as he turned around in his seat and pushed her out. Erin stumbled from the car and didn't even have the chance to shut the door before she saw her father speed away.
She stood there for a moment as she gazed off in the direction her father had gone. She was confused and didn't understand. Did her father, her guardian, just leave her on the side of the road? Well, it was a small town, but still. People walked down the sidewalk, not even taking notice that she had just been abandoned. She did, however, get odd looks from pedestrians due to her unusual appearance. She had short hair with a fohawk spiked in the front. Black jeans and a 'Skillet' band shirt with a black jacket. Did they think she was a lesbian? Probably, but she was straight, like most, she just looked like a boy. Why? Her parents only wanted boys and when they had her, they made her dress like a boy, like the rest of her four brothers.
She let out a long sigh as she turned and looked around, trying to decide what to do. She had no money, no belongings beside the clothes on her body. She strode over onto the sidewalk so she wasn't standing in the middle of the street and looked around. She thought about asking someone for help, but judging by the weird looks she was still getting, she figured that was out of the question. She glanced over and a large GMC c4500 Topkick caught her eye. She walked over to the truck and looked it over with a slight smirk. "Nice." she said out loud to herself. She was talking to herself; there was no one there to hear her. She walked around to the tailgate and stared at the decal on the back. It was an oddly shaped symbol that almost looked like a face, but, then again, not. She ran a hand over the symbol and after a moment the truck seemed to shudder.
She removed her hand quickly and stared at the truck. 'Did it just....shiver?' she asked herself. She then shrugged slightly and began to walk away.
"You look'in at my truck kid" a rough voice asked, more like a statement then a question. Erin turned and looked at the extremely well-built man he had to work out, muscles like that don't happen on their own in his early thirty's wearing black jeans and shirt with a black cowboy hat.
"Yes sir, I was." she replied without fear.
The man just nodded and walked away and headed towards an apparently unused building down the street. The there was a noise like pieces of metal clinking together and Erin looked down to saw that he dropped his keys. She walked over, grabbed them, and looked up. "Sir you..." she paused when she noticed he had disappeared. "Dropped your keys," she finished, mumbling to herself. She looked around once more before looking down at the keys in her hand. She walked over to the Topkick, set the keys down between the windshield and the back of the hood, and walked away. She wasn't going to steal someone's car, or truck for that matter, even if it was as badass as that truck. With another sigh she sat down on the bench and leaned back. 'What am I going to do?'
Ironhide was out on break, also being sure to keep an optic out for any Decepticon activity. He had settled down on his shocks when the sound of slamming breaks caught his audios. He adjusted his rearview mirrors to the car behind him. He watched as a girl was seemingly thrown from the car before it took off down the road. He watched the girl and scanned her for a moment. She was fine, though a bit shocked, and apparently felt put out by what had just transpired. He had never found any interest in humans, and sometimes wondered why Optimus protected these beings. He vented out a sigh and resumed scanning the area.
Suddenly, he felt someone touch his tailgate and he shivered involuntarily, before glancing back and seeing the same girl again. 'Can't you just leave me alone?' he grumbles to himself, before activating his holoform.
"You look'in at my truck kid?" he asked her.
"Yes sir, I am."
He didn't know what to say to that, so he just nodded his head and walked away.
However, in a flash of insight, he decided that he wanted to try something. She looked like she liked his alt. form, and since she didn't have anything of her own, she might decide to try and steal him. He wanted to test her. His holoform dropped his keys, walked into an abandoned building, and deactivated. He watched as the girl walked over and picked up his keys. She looked around for a moment, before setting the keys down and walking away. He was shocked that she hadn't taken the opportunity to steal him.
He watched for a few moments longer as she sat forlornly on a bench, and something in his spark told him that he needed to watch over her. By the looks of it, she would need all the help she can get, and for once, he felt bad for the girl.
